Seniors Curling

Come join us at the Winfield Curling Club in our Seniors’ Mixed League.

Senior curling format this year: while seniors will not be able to simply drop in and will be required to commit to either a full or half season, you do not have to put a team together. The teams will be formed as usual, by drawing tiles.

2020-2021 Season Update:
Hello seniors, hope you are well and staying safe. I have been asked by the board to give you a bit of an update of what we are working on for the start of the curling season. Covid19 protocols are being worked on that we need to submit to the district office before we can start curling which looks like the middle of October due to construction. The main changes for the season will be that there is no drop in curling and that our social coffee after curling is no longer viable at this time. Coffee and other beverages will be provided at the bar for those who wish to stay after. Your group of 4 that you curl with will come off the ice and if you wish to go upstairs you will sit as your group only at a table for 4.
Any and all guests will need to sign in at the bar with the information we would need if we had to do a trace of any sort.
Fees – the on line registration form is available on line showing the fees for½ season or payment for the full season. Ted and I will work out final details of how the check in will work once we have more details on the opening date. If you have any concerns or would like to contact me you may do so at 250-766-4489 or email dalekupidy@telusplanet.net . See you all soon.

Registration form: Do not fill the form in your browser window. Start by downloading the form on your own computer before filling it. You can then fill it, save it, and attach it to an email to Wolf at the Curling Club: winfieldcurlingclub@shaw.ca

Seniors curling league

All curlers, conventional or stick, age 50 or older are welcome. Curling takes place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:00 p.m. from October to March.
There are no set teams; all players choose the position they want to play on a first come, first serve basis. Space is sometimes limited. Come early to have first pick.
Members love having the freedom to attend when they can and not having to find a spare when they can’t. With four sheets of ice impeccably groomed by Ice Technician, Darren Heath, assisted by Club Manager, Wolf de Smet, hitting the broom and throwing the right weight are the only things players need to worry about.

Fun, Fitness and Friendship are the top priorities that our members are thrilled to be a part of!
